Kristina is a Gold Star Mom, and is also the author of the Big-Hearted Charlie series of childern's books based on true stories of her fallen Navy SEAL son, Charles Keating IV.  The first book in the series, Big-Hearted Charlie Runs the Mile, earned the Royal Palm Literary Award from the Florida Writers Association.
