Home Page Stories
The Palm Valley Rotary Club was able to celebrate a long list of accomplishments over the past year.  Everything from food drives, to shredding events to raise funds for charities, to volunteering at Peace of Heart Communities, to ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.  This group of people truly understand what "doing good in our neighborhood" means.  The group knows how to have fun, also.  Jumbo Shrimp games, Alhambra Theater, picnics in the park....the list goes on.  Congratulations on a calendar year well spent.  Can't wait to see what next year holds.
Members of the Palm Valley Rotary Club put on their best - or whatever they had in their closets - as they rang the bell for the Salvation Army.  The club volunteered at the Sawgrass Publix and the Nocatee Publix with the help of the Nease Interact Club.  Our combined efforts raised almost $3,500 in just 2 days.  Way to go everyone.  You're Grrrrrrreat!
The club welcomed Anvita Dogiparthy, the president of the Nease High School Interact Club.  She talked about what the Interact Club is doing this year and talked about her experiences in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).  The Palm Valley Rotary Club sponsored Anvita last year for the virtual program.
The club had a great time in fellowship as we participated in a Nights of Lights river cruise to see the sights and sounds of St. Augustine from the comfort of the Island Breeze.  A big thanks to Florida Water Tours and Waine for setting this up!
The Rotary Club of Palm Valley had another successful shredding event / food drive on November 11th.  Club members and Nease High School Interactors are shown here loading the last of the food into a car to be distributed to local area food banks.
Our Trivia night out fell through, but little inconveniences don't stop People of Action.  The team pivoted and we made our own trivia night at the Marsh Landing Country Club.  Questions ranged from Halloween-themed Top 10 most popular candy (including Reece's Peanut Butter Cups and M&M's), Top 10 least popular candies (sorry, black licorice and candy corn) to Florida questions and testing the club's knowledge on Presidential middle names.  A good time was had by all as we tested our thinking skills.
While Rotary can be hard work, it's also tremendous amounts of fun as well as rewarding!  The club took the opportunity to have an off-site meeting at the Brumos Collection.  Members were able to experience the main collection as well as interactive experiences that took them back to the early days of automotive design, racing and the drivers themselves.
Members of the Palm Valley Rotary were doing Rotary things on October 16th.  While some members of the club were gaining more knowledge about Rotary at Rotary Leadership Institute, other members of the club were giving back to the community.  Talk about "People of Action"!!  Palm Valley RC members donated their time "filling the van" for Saving Animals From Euthanasia (SAFE).  Learn more about SAFE and how you can contribute at https://www.safe-pet-rescue-fl.com/.
We have our semi-annual shredding / food drive event coming up next month.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there doing some good in our neighborhood.
