Home Page Stories
Palm Valley Rotarians recently presented SAFE (Saving Animals from Euthanasia) with a generous donation made possible by their recent Caring for Kids Raffle Fundraiser.  SAFE was founded in 2008 with the goal of rescuing animals from kill shelters where they are facing euthanasia.  To date, SAFE, which operates entirely on donations and volunteer efforts, has rescued over 28,000 wonderful, precious pets who through no fault of their own became homeless.  Each has a story, a heart and feelings, and deserves a chance to have the home they want so desperately.  Among the other charities supported by the Palm Valley Rotary Club are Peace of Heart and Blessings in a Backpack, as well as many others.
Palm Valley Rotarians welcomed District Governor Elect Mickey Ulmer, who presented Club President Walther Vliegen with their EREY and Foundation Awards for the 2022-2023 Rotary year.  Members look forward to a fun year with this DG!

Past Club President (and current Club Treasurer and Past District Governor - Red Bank, NJ) Horton Hickerson gave a flamboyant and mesmerizing presentation and 'quiz' on Ethics, which he also teaches at Rotary Leadership Institute!
It was great to hear from Past District Governor and current member of Rotary Club of Palm Valley Horton Hickerson at Thursday's Rotary meeting! Horton spoke about The Rotary Foundation and and the many ways that members' donations can have an impact both locally and internationally. It was a very informative presentation!

The Rotary Club of Palm Valley recently welcomed the Caring for Kids grand prize raffle winners to their Chef-created feast in The Wine Room at The Lodge and Club.  Pictured front to back are couples Chris and Alison Seely, Kullen and Meaghan Sourdiff, Donnie and Heather Connelly, as well as St. Augustine Symphony's Bella Costa String Quartet who performed for the lucky prize winners. The funds raised by the raffle went to support local charities, including Peace of Heart, Blessings in a Backpack, and S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. 1/19/2024
Peace of Heart Co-Founder Howard Groshell and Spokesperson Josh Murphy are presented with a donation from Palm Valley Rotary Club members Waine Banyas and Janeene Hart.  Palm Valley Rotary Club's recent Caring for Kids raffle raised these funds to support local charities, such as Peace of Heart, whose Vision is to create an environment where a meaningFullife for persons with autism can be realized by fostering an atmosphere of love, happiness and belonging where all life is valued, voices are heard and talents are developed to make a difference in the world.  1/20/2024
Samantha Minton, Managing Director for the First Coast Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack accepts a donation from Palm Valley Rotary Club members Janeene Hart, Waine Banyas and Dave Gleason.  The Rotary Club's recent Caring for Kids raffle raised these funds to support local charities. 1/17/2024
