Palm Valley Rotarians meet Bright Holidays volunteers in the parking lot of Marsh Landing Country Club to pass on the club members' collected new toys that will be distributed to local children. Bright Holidays partners with 46 local schools in Duval and St. John's County.  The school principals and faculty help identify the families in need, obtain parental permission, gather children's specific clothing sizes and toy preference, and help facilitate delivery of gifts to the families.  98% of monetary donations is spent on gifts. Bright Holidays has been a 501(3)(c) since 2005, and has served more than 1000 kids per year for the last six years.
Palm Valley Rotarians enjoyed a guided tour of the large campus and beautiful buildings on the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind campus in St. Augustine.  Lunch was made and served by the students.  FSDB is a fully accredited, tuition-free school serving over 1700 deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired children.

Palm Valley Rotarians recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their club's charter.  The happy group celebrated with dinner and champagne at the recently beautifully renovated The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Club.  Many thanks to Rotary Club President Walther Vliegen for arranging the evening's festivities, which included cocktails on a private balcony overlooking the water, golf course and immaculate grounds, as well as dinner, a special dessert and a champagne toast!
