The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach - Sunset joined forces this past Monday August 15th with JCP Cares for their 'Back to School" Event down in south St. John's County.  The event supports the migrant farm workers and their families that live in the area.  Over 250 back packs filled with school supplies donated by the Rotary club were handed out that night.  Other organizations joining in the event were:

  •  St. Luke's Mobile Outreach Ministry: Their mobile unit provided free School Health Check ups for all the children in the area.

  • 1st Baptist Church of Armstrong, FL where the event was taking place.

  • Lake Shore Baptist Church who provided two strong men that cooked all the hamburgers and hot dogs outside on the grill in the heat, some fantastic homemade desserts, and several boxes of clothes that were donated by members.

 In Attendance were:

JoAnn Radcliffe with her mother, Carol Maurer, Jane Viviano - Outbound RYE Student, Sarah Davenport - Host sister, Johanna Heikkila - RYE Inbound Student from Finland, Mike Anderson, Jeff Hart, Chuck Schoonmaker, and Waine Banyes.
